"Video" Dave Rotondo
Founder of Free To Be Wild Video Productions

Dave Rotondo has been passionate about the art of videography for over 25 years. He knew then what technology and media companies are placing their chips on now. Self-produced content is filling servers and hard drives around the world. Technology has finally caught up to where Dave's vision has been for over 20 years.

Dave grew up in the creatively charged city of Kent, Ohio. After graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1980, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was stationed in Panama City, Florida, where he served his country by protecting its waters, conducting search and rescue missions and law enforcement in the Gulf of Mexico. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned home to Kent to be with family.

Dave's father took note of his son's love of the guitar and bought him a video camera to record his music. Dave started taping a local band, the Black Hole Jokers. Soon other artists such as Davey Fields, Ital, and First Light had sought out the services of "Video Dave." He began taping celebrations of all kinds, from weddings to parades, capturing once-in-a-lifetime memories for his clients.

In order to subsidize and upgrade his video equipment, Dave began a wholesale business distributing his handcrafted artwork. He travelled the country coordinating the distribution network, making enough to finance his education in television broadcasting. He attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1999, and transferred to the Ohio Center for Broadcasting in 2000.

Upon graduation he was hired by Sportview TV as a videographer for Thistledown Racetrack. Evan Kelly, owner of Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, offered Dave the prestigious position of official NLQP videographer, recording the many musical acts performing at the park. He has built a reputation for integrity and quality and established himself as a trusted resource with the nationally-known artists who perform there.

Dave is now able to offer his services to everyone with on-the-spot video production. Memories are captured and produced on DVD -- not weeks or months after the fact, but RIGHT NOW!
